This project is an experimental collaboration with a friend. Inspired by curiosity about the hidden and mysterious nature of human organs, we imagined a fictional universe created by one of the body’s most seemingly useless parts—the appendix.
In this narrative, the appendix generates its own miniature cosmos and creates humans within it, planting a sense of emptiness that leaves us wandering through a strange and quietly meaningless everyday world. It also leaves behind a small “scripture” on Earth, written in its own language.
The type design inside the book was developed as part of the experiment. The letterforms behave like internal organs—growing, writhing, and intertwining—evoking a subtle sense of physiological unease.
